Electoral Commission as an executive power has ended its preparations and waiting for the time of opening the polling centers that is available everywhere in Iraq. It praises all the efforts made by political entities, those who are participating in the elections through applying rules and regulations of commission and also applying the mechanisms of the silence of the media. It started at exactly 7am, Saturday, 7-3-2010. These commitments reinforce the position of the political entities and the candidates in their respect to the Code of Conduct that organizes the process of elections. It also asks the entities and the candidates to be calm and deal with the events transparently and to direct their popular bases for creating appropriate atmosphere for voting. It confirmed that the availability of the political entity representatives who are present intensively at the polling centers to observe the election beside the presence of the local and international observers. This will strongly impulse the process to be at the level of the ambition through applying the principle impartiality and transparency which will be way toward the success of the election.
The commission also invites the supporters that seek for success of the election, including the security forces that their duty is protecting the security of the electors and the elections. The commission asked them to limit their role in maintaining security for the polling centers. It also facilities the mission of the electors to reach the centers without interferes in the technical matters which will be limited on the staff of the commission who are obliged to be committed to the Code of Conducts and the procedures which they have been trained on and promised to apply them.
Moreover, the commission invites Media to build a real partnership to keep an eye and revealing all that is happening in the electoral process. This work is professional and transparent in news reports and calls the voter to participate effectively and move towards the ballot box.
The Board of Commissioners wishes success for the Iraqi electors because they are an important part and key to the success of the election. It also wished success for the political entities, international and local observers, agents of the political entities, journalists, security forces and all who are involved in the process of election.
