OCV announces ending registration and voting abroad
OCV announced ending registration and voting abroad. Mr. Miqdad Sharifi, executive director, stated, saying that registration and voting ended in the third day of the poll in the last country.
which was USA, at 5:00 am in (8-3-2010, adding that the election in the countries covered by the decision of the Commissioners Board and the electoral offices were opened in, was successful and distinguished in terms of Iraqi participation and their impulsion to the poll boxes. Mr. Sharifi confirmed high bound of the office employees all in implementing the instructions and procedures taken by the Commission for reaching professional voting characterized by transparency and integrity. It promoted great satisfaction of all Iraqis abroad and their emphasis on the progression of the poll process smoothly, despite the big gathering and high impulsion by the Iraqis to participate. What distinguishes these elections is that so many Iraqis participated, who live in the other countries the electoral offices haven’t been opened in. and it reinforces the desire of Iraqis abroad to participate in this electoral wedding, which surely is important in constructing the country and promoting the democratic approach in it. Its mentioned that the Commission opened 16 electoral offices in the included countries in the elections and opened 119 electoral centers and 602 stations. Other stations have been opened because of the rally of the voters and the stations became nearly 672 stations.
