On occasion of ending the poll process, Mr. Faraj Haidari presents a speech
For completing its procedures and continuity with the media agents by the steps add more transparency, the Commissioners Board of the Independent High Electoral Commission held a press conference in late on Sunday night ,March/7/2010, in the presence of Id Melkert, the head of the UN delegation in Iraq.
Mr. Faraj Haidari, head of the Commissioners Board, read the statement of the Commission. The following is the statement:

Dear attendants.
Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon.

In this great day which the Iraqis all waited to write and register the finest and greatest test of creeping to the poll boxes in the modern history, with their violet fingers holding the all hopes and aspirations in constructing Iraqi democratic pluralism full of creative energies, which put fingerprints in the coming parliament. After this day ended by blessing and protection of God of the voting stage, which saw this big creeping, despite the attempts of terrorists, weak people and murderers by using explosives to terrorize and intimidate people for stopping this big public rally, which refused not to participate and give a great message to the whole world that the Iraqi people is an active people. Iraqi people took its big decision to go towards democracy and building a state of institutions via free and fair elections.

In this great occasion, the Independent High Electoral Commission congratulates Iraqi people all especially the Iraqi voter, who rushed to the poll centers early to say his/her great speech and elect Iraq. The Commission also congratulates the political entities participated in the electoral process and the candidates for running the elections, entering this arena and holding responsibility. Then their presence in this electoral race promotes the status of Iraq internationally and makes the nations and countries look at this nation with respect and appreciation, which stood with will in front of the all challenges, therefore the entities and candidates must accept the results after their participation strongly in the electoral process and first bear interests of Iraq their mind. They have to hold conscious electoral culture, which is blessing the winners, respect the results and do not doubting the great work and effort undertaken by the Commission as the executive body, which all see It, and its owners could apply the systems, regulations and procedures, which contribute to success of the electoral process. Here I have to mention huge presence of the international and local observers, political entities agents and media agents. This promotes integrity and transparency of the elections.

The responsibility of announcing the results limited to the Commission as a technical body depends on the mechanisms of counting, sorting and recording the results and then checking them and passing them through multiple stages for giving guarantee of announcing true results. Here the Commission asks the all political entities and Iraqi citizens to wait the results be announced officially by the reliable official body. it takes a long time to enable the Commission to do its work perfectly. The accounts, which appear everywhere, and the announcement of the victory of a particular party or a candidate participated in the elections, are expectations and there are no figures or true results. Here we have to mention that the true figures and results will be announced by the Commission.

In this great day, we have to congratulate Iraqi people, political entities and candidates on occasion of this important station of modern history of Iraq and surely the results will be promotion to the new stage of building democracy and passing power peacefully. History will see and record it by golden letters to be a light stand for the free peoples and a paved way for those who try towards democratic glory and building new state, which focuses on respecting the will of people, implementing law and respecting freedom of opinion and expression.

On behalf of myself and the Commissioners Board, I present thanks and appreciation to each person contributed to succeed this great day and I have to indicate the efforts of the electoral international cooperation team, international experts, civil society organizations which deal with electoral affairs, international and local observers, political entities agents, high security committee for the elections and all people who are faithful and love Iraqi people…… Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon.
